Clusters as a future form of renewable energy sources – increasingly popular!
5 October 2021
What is the aim of energy clusters?
– The purpose of energy clusters is to develop distributed energy, which serves to improve energy security, at the same time ensuring economic efficiency in an environmentally friendly way, providing optimal organizational, legal and financial conditions. They make it possible to use local resources and domestic energy potential.
Where did the idea for energy clusters come from?
1)Idea 2)RES source
3)SOR strategy for responsible development 4)Clean energy package
Development of dispersed energy makes it possible to manage raw materials and local potential. It is an important formula for supplementing energy supply in less urbanised areas. Therefore, the place for development of these sources are Energy Clusters, which give a chance to build new areas of activity for locally operating companies, but also to economic growth.
The Strategy for Responsible Development is one of the main development challenges of Poland, which ensures stable and optimal adjustment to the needs of energy supply consumers
Effectiveness and efficiency of clusters depends on rational and effective use of the potential: locally available energy resources, renewable energy sources, innovation, entrepreneurship in the area of production, transmission, distribution , as well as management of energy consumption.
Reliability of energy supply is important for the rate of economic and social development in areas neglected in terms of energy and investment. They are included in the package of proposals for directives and regulations “Clean energy for all Europeans, or how to unleash Europe’s growth potential”, also known as the “Winter Package”, which begins a new chapter in the construction of the European economy after 2020.
Who creates energy clusters?
– Government administration
– Entrepreneurs
– Science
– Citizens
– Innovators
– Consumers
– Business
– Banks
Benefits of energy clusters:
Energy clusters with cooperation with the National Electricity System can contribute to
⁃ increase in local electricity production, which results in improved continuity of energy supply
⁃ increase of share among others of RES, which leads to diversification of energy sources and decrease of threats caused by low emission
⁃ meet electricity demand in smaller towns
⁃ be less dependent on foreign fuel supplies, decrease of fuel imports
⁃ reduce exhaust gas emissions by replacing old cookers with modern cookers powered by electricity
⁃ waste management which results in elimination of a significant environmental problem
⁃ development of society which are reconciled by energy clusters
⁃ increased use of local resources
Energy clusters are a new element of the National Electricity System.
They cooperate with the rest of the grid but have an autonomy depending on the advancement.
In this system there are different generation sources, the main role is played by renewable energy sources, which use their own distribution network and cooperate with the operator.
The nature of energy clusters is that energy is not transmitted over long distances. In order to transmit it over longer distances, high-voltage lines are needed.
NPSs are facilities designed for the transmission, distribution, storage and use of electrical energy. These facilities are interconnected in such a way that the supply of energy throughout the country is continuous and uninterrupted.
The NPS consists of :
- Commercial power plants
- Distribution network
- Industrial network
